Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the gas cost of a trip?
Multiply the distance by your car's consumption in litres per 100 km, divide by 100, then multiply by the price per litre. 300 km at 8 L/100 km and 173.8¢ a litre is $41.71.
Are the official fuel ratings accurate?
They come from standard tests by Natural Resources Canada. Real driving in winter, in traffic or at high speed often uses more fuel, so treat the result as a baseline.
